4  ^mOne thing have I asked of the Lord,

that will I seek after:

that I may ⁿdwell in the house of the Lord

all the days of my life,

to gaze upon ^othe beauty of the Lord

and to inquire¹ in his temple.

2  Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;

worship the Lord in ^dthe splendor of holiness.¹

11  and the king will desire your beauty.

Since he is your ^qlord, ^rbow to him.

17  Let the ^xfavor¹ of the Lord our God be upon us,

and establish ^ythe work of our hands upon us;

yes, establish the work of our hands!

3  ^xYour people will ^yoffer themselves freely

on the day of your ^zpower,¹

in ^aholy garments;²

from the womb of the morning,

the dew of your youth will be yours.³
