the floods have lifted up their voice;

the floods lift up their roaring.

4  Mightier than the thunders of many waters,

mightier than the waves of the sea,

Do you not tremble before me?

I placed the sand ^las the boundary for the sea,

a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;

though the waves toss, they cannot prevail;

though ^mthey roar, they cannot pass over it.
