15  All who pass along the way

clap their hands at you;

^fthey hiss and wag their heads

at the daughter of Jerusalem:

“Is this the city that was called

^gthe perfection of beauty,

^gthe joy of all the earth?”

15  This is the exultant city

^bthat lived securely,

that said in her heart,

“I am, and there is no one else.”

What a desolation she has become,

^ca lair for wild beasts!

^dEveryone who passes by her

hisses and ^eshakes his fist.
