Lamentations 2:12

12  They cry to their mothers,

xWhere is bread and wine?

was they faint like a wounded man

in the streets of the city,

as their life is poured out

on their mothers’ bosom.


Lamentations 4:4

The tongue of the nursing infant usticks

to the roof of its mouth for thirst;

vthe children beg for food,

but no one gives to them.


Jeremiah 38:9

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they did to Jeremiah the prophet by casting him into the cistern, and he will die there of vhunger, wfor there is no bread left in the city.


Jeremiah 52:6

On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.
