30 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: ^eWill you defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers and go ^fwhoring after their detestable things? 31 When you present your gifts and ^goffer up your children in fire,¹ you defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. And ^hshall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? ⁱAs I live, declares the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you.

37 For ^kthey have committed adultery, ^land blood is on their hands. With their idols they have committed adultery, and they have even ^moffered up¹ to them for food the children whom they had borne to me.

39 For when ^pthey had slaughtered their children in sacrifice to their idols, on the same day ^qthey came into my sanctuary to profane it. And behold, ^rthis is what they did in my house.
