ESV — 2 Samuel 8:6; 1 Kings 11:24; 1 Chronicles 18:5-6

Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Syrians rbecame servants to David and brought tribute. sAnd the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.


24 And he gathered men about him and became leader of a marauding band, pafter the killing by David. And they went to Damascus and lived there and made him king in Damascus.


And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king eof Zobah, David struck down 22,000 men of the Syrians. Then David put garrisons1 in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. And the Lord gave victory to David2 wherever he went.
