6 And Solomon said, “You have shown great and steadfast love to your servant David my father, because ^hhe walked before you in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward you. And you have kept for him this great and steadfast love and ⁱhave given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

4 And as for you, if you will ^pwalk before me, ^qas David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules, 5 ^rthen I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

4 For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and ^yhis heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, ^zas was the heart of David his father.

34 Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.

8 and ^ltore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, and yet you have not been ^mlike my servant David, who kept my commandments and followed me with all his heart, doing only that which was right in my eyes,

3 And he walked in all the sins that his father did before him, and ^xhis heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father.
